Here's What You Need To Know...

Inspired by Concord Theatricals’ recent Licensing Competition, TND Musicals is excited to announce its own The Case of the Counterfeit Napoleon, A Sherlock Holmes Musical Mystery, Licensing Competition. The competition is open to all AACT community theatres in Regions I, II, III and VI, especially those with a strong financial need.  Napoleon was originally produced at A Premiere Playhouse in Columbus, Ohio, written and directed by Darryl Bojanowski. TND Musicals will award each of five theatres with a complimentary four-performance licensing package, including all rental materials.  

 

To enter, theatres must complete an online application, including an Essay that answers several prompts.  The theatres will be selected based on a variety of factors, including financial need and creativity of the Essay.  The Contest is open exclusively to theatres that are members of AACT in the four regions listed.    

 

Applications are open from April 22 to May 22, 2024 (International Sherlock Holmes Day celebrating the birthday of Holmes’ creator, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle!). GO TO THE APPLICATION TO ENTER.  Winners will be announced by June 1.  The winning theatres must present their productions between September, 2024 and December, 2025.  The first winning theatre’s production in each state during that time period will be given the distinction of “STATE PREMIERE.” (excludes Ohio)

OFFICIAL RULES

GENERAL The Case of the Counterfeit Napoleon Licensing Competition begins at 12:01 AM Eastern Time (“ET”) Monday, April 22, 2024, and ends at 11:59PM ET, Wednesday, May 22, 2024 (the “Promotion Period”). Sponsor’s (defined below) clock is the official timekeeper of the Contest. No purchase necessary to enter or win the Contest. Contest is void where prohibited by law. By participating in this Contest, each Entrant (as defined below) agrees to be bound by these Official Rules and to the decisions of Sponsor and the judges selected by Sponsor, which are final and binding on all matters relating to the Contest.

ELIGIBILITY The Contest is open exclusively to community theatres (“Organization”) that are members of AACT in Regions I, II, III and VI.  Void in all jurisdictions other than those stated above and where prohibited or restricted by law.  “Entrant” must be authorized to represent the Organization when applying to the contest. Any Entrant who is not authorized by their Organization to enter the Contest will be deemed ineligible. In no event shall any Entrant under the age of 18 be eligible to enter the Contest.  Employees of Sponsor and its advertising and promotion agencies, affiliates, parent companies, subsidiaries, and members of their respective immediate families (spouses, parents, children, and siblings and their spouses) and/or those living in the same household of each are not eligible. All applicable federal, state, and local laws, taxes and regulations apply. 

HOW TO ENTER During the Promotion Period, Entrants must go to https://www.LicenSINGMUSICALS.com and submit a fully completed application. Winners (as defined below) shall be chosen based upon the criteria detailed in “Selection of Winners,” below.

SELECTION OF WINNERS Five (5) winners (“Winner”/”Winners”) will be selected by June 1, 2024 and notified via email. Winners will be selected by a panel of judges selected by Sponsor at their sole and absolute discretion. Judging criteria for Contest Winners will be based on an unweighted combination of quality of application, financial need, and how the event will impact the Organization’s local community, the Organization, and its members. Prizes are granted at the sole discretion of Sponsor and the panel of judges. Prize will be awarded to the Organization, not to the Entrant or any other individual.

PRIZE Winners shall receive a four performance licensing package, including rental materials, for The Case of the Counterfeit Napoleon. Winners must present their production between September 1, 2024, and December 31, 2025. Value of Prize shall in no event exceed $3,000.00 USD (MSRP of Prize). Except where prohibited by law or regulation, a Winner's acceptance of the Prize will constitute permission for Sponsor, its partners and affiliates to use a Winner's and/or Organization’s name, likeness, and statements for any purpose related directly, or indirectly to the Contest and this promotion without additional compensation, consideration, or consent.

RULES Entrance into the Contest is voluntary. Upon selection as a Winner, Winner will be asked to provide Sponsor with Winner’s and Organization’s full name, mailing address, email address and/or other contact information. Sponsor will email Winners a “Prize Confirmation Form.” Prize Confirmation Form must be completed and emailed to Sponsor within forty-eight (48) hours of notification attempt, or Prize may be forfeited and an alternate Winner may be selected. All material submitted becomes the sole property of Sponsor and will not be returned. Acceptance of a Prize constitutes permission to Sponsor to use the applicable Winner’s (and Organization’s) name, biographical information, pictures/portraits, likeness and/or voice, as the same may be provided by Winner to Sponsor, for purposes of advertising and trade without further compensation or additional notice, unless prohibited by law. Prize awarded is strictly limited to those items/events enumerated above and in no event shall include any additional items and/or costs which may be associated with utilization or acquisition of Prize. By participating in this Contest, Entrant agrees to be bound by these General Rules and the respective decisions of Sponsor. Sponsor is not responsible for technical hardware/software failures of any kind, lost/unavailable network connections, or failed/incomplete, garbled or delayed computer transmission, which may limit a user’s/Entrant’s ability to participate in the Contest. Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, suspend, and or modify the Contest at will. Additionally, Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, modify or disqualify Entrant if fraud, misconduct, or technical failures destroy the integrity of the Contest as determined solely by Sponsor. Sponsor is not responsible for any typographical/other error in printing of Contest administration/Prize announcement or for any liability for damage to any computer system resulting from participation in, accessing or downloading information in connection with this Contest. Sponsor is not responsible for any taxes, fees and/or any other costs with respect to the Prizes awarded (if applicable). WINNER ASSUMES ALL LIABILITY IN AND IN CONNECTION WITH WINNER’S USE AND ACCEPTANCE OF THE PRIZE. EACH ENTRANT, INCLUDING THE WINNER(S), AGREES TO INDEMNIFY, DEFEND AND HOLD SPONSOR, ITS PARENTS, AFFILIATES, DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES AND ASSIGNS HARMLESS AGAINST ANY AND ALL CLAIMS AND LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF PARTICIPATION IN THE CONTEST AND ACCEPTANCE AND USE OF THE PRIZE, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, DAMAGE TO PROPERTY, PERSONAL INJURY AND DEATH. By entering the Contest, each Entrant releases the Sponsor and its agents from any and all liability or claims resulting from participation in the Contest.

GOVERNING LAW/DISPUTES Any and all disputes will be resolved in Cleveland County courts in the state of Ohio in the United States, exclusively, and are subject to the laws of the state of Ohio. Should there be any conflict between the laws of Ohio and any other laws, the conflict will be resolved in favor of the laws of the state of Ohio. Further, in any such dispute, under no circumstances will any participant be permitted to obtain awards for, and hereby waives all rights to claim, punitive, incidental or consequential damages, or any other damages, including attorney's fees, other than participant's actual out-of-pocket expenses that are specifically associated with the Contest and participant further waives all rights to have damages multiplied or increased.
